Theater / Dance
The In-Control Theater/Drama program is designed to educate and train teens who may be interested in the field of theater. It is also geared to give the teens an understanding of the theater industry, and an opportunity to obtain their goals in the theater field. The structure of the program allows for the teens to explore the many aspects of theatre. Teens may have the opportunity to see a professional show and tour a professional theater. There will also be opportunities to rehearse a script and perform a show that will address the issues of: teen pregnancy, STI, HIV, abuse, etc.
The In-Control dance program is designed to give the youth an opportunity to express themselves through the form of dance. The program involves teaching youth the art of dance and choreography. The dance program also builds self-esteem and aids the girls in forming a sisterly bond.
